In this study, diffraction grating was fabricated in photo reactive monomer/liquid crystal composites by using laser beam drawing method. Under certain conditions, the anisotropy effect was confirmed although there is no liquid crystals alignment process applied in this formation. Therefore, we have investigated the mechanism of liquid crystals alignment by varying conditions of grating fabrication. As a result, the formation of grating which is originated by phase separation and molecular migration is clearly depended on those conditions which, the optical anisotropy is induced under optimum condition. From this study, we extensively characterize the grating formation generated in this material by means of laser beam drawing method. |
