板紙, 複合材の型抜き加工に関する研究
Fundamental Mechanics on Paperboard Diecutting

くさび切刃と面板との組合せで行われる、塗工紙などの板紙の抜き型加工は、 牛乳パックや菓子箱等の量産工程で広く使われている。またシール材や フィルム等の抜き加工にも使われる汎用的な加工法である。 このような板紙の打ち抜き加工における刃先摩耗や切れ味特性を知ることは、 工具寿命の予測や生産管理の観点から重要である。 そこで、切れ味特性の調査ならびに工具摩耗特性を実験的に進めるとともに 紙材の基本的な性質を調査し、基礎的な力学特性を追究する。
また、段ボール箱を代表例とする包装箱の強度評価についても、実験ならびに 計算を進めており、予測評価式の確立ならびに諸データの収集を行っている。

Paperboard diecutting, which is constituted with a center bevel blade and a counter plate, is widely used for producing various packages, printing cards, thermal insulation films and labels. They are used for food packages and liquid containers and so on. This cutting method has several merits for processing a large-sized sheet under a high speed transferring, and also has a high precision sizing with a complicated pattern. An important merit of this cutting method is relatively economical with respect to its maintainability. However, this cutting method (mechanics) has some demerits or technical problems to be solved. The sharpness of diecutter and the endurance of cutting tools are always important and interesting from the aspects of industrial engineering. And at the same time, the material properties of worksheet, which is usually laminated with adhesives and glues and/or coated by some colored clays, are important for performing a high quality of sheared profile. Bending of crease and cutting (shearing and stripping) are primary topics. To reduce any dusts is another topic. Mechanical behavior of coated layer on the worksheet and coating technology of tool surface are also included to those topics.
Through various experiments, we observe real behaviors which occurr at a cutting/bending process by using a high performance microscope and measure the load response during the process. And also, we investigate the deformation behavior of the worksheet through an FEM simulation. Cracking phenomena during a half breaking stage, frictional slipping between the worksheet and the tool are discussed.
