The 20th Anniversary Symposium of iPS Cells was held from October 20 to
22, 2026, at the Kyoto International Conference Center, Japan. This international
symposium commemorated the 20th anniversary of the discovery of induced
pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, bringing together researchers to reflect
on two decades of scientific achievements and discuss future directions
in stem cell research and regenerative medicine.

The symposium featured a wide range of topics, including the basic biology
of iPS cells, differentiation technologies, disease modeling, drug discovery,
and clinical applications. Researchers presented their latest findings
and discussed emerging technologies, challenges in clinical translation,
and future prospects for regenerative medicine. Participants from universities,
research institutions, industries, and medical organizations worldwide
contributed diverse perspectives. The exhibition also showcased advanced
technologies and equipment for stem cell culture and analysis.
Three members of our laboratory presented their research during the poster
sessions. Through discussions with researchers from Japan and abroad, we
gained valuable insights and new perspectives on our work. The symposium
provided an excellent opportunity to share our research findings with the
international scientific community and exchange ideas across different
fields.

We look forward to applying the knowledge and feedback gained from this
symposium to improve our experimental approaches and further advance our
research.
